This measure has been introduced to regulate the number of visitors to Comino’s Blue Lagoon and to help protect and preserve the delicate ecosystems of this popular Natura 2000 site. Malta has a typical Mediterranean climate. The temperature can vary between 20ºC to 40ºC, and the sun shines brightly during these months. From June to September is the high season. Therefore, the best times to visit Santa Maria Caves are April to May and October to November. Located West of the island, the lagoon is an area known for its crystal clear blue waters and caves. The area is located roughly 10 minutes by foot from Blue Lagoon and it can also be reached by boat, kayak, or swimming. There are 4 caves located in Crystal Lagoon, the first one can be seen on the photo. This natural attraction is a large sea cave with a collapsed roof, forming a hole with a beautiful arch to the Mediterranean Sea. The second cave is located along the coastline 210 meters right when facing the first cave. If you are planning to visit this cave, we suggest you to bring a waterproof flash light as the cave is very deep and dark. If you are adventurous enough to make it to the end, you will find a small hidden sandy beach. The third cave is located along the coastline 120 meters left when facing the first cave. Despite its small size and narrow entrance, this swim-through cave is worth exploring. The fourth cave is located opposite the third cave around 100 meters away. Despite its tiny size and entrance, this cave is still worth exploring.

Cominotto is located on the opposite side of Blue Lagoon. The island is only about 250 square meters and it's mostly rocky. It has a very small sandy beach and a swim through cave making it an ideal place for swimming, and snorkeling. The island is accessible by boat, but you can opt for swimming there from Blue Lagoon. If you are planning to visit the tiny island, I suggest you to visit it in the afternoon, as the sunset views from there are magical.

Santa Maria Bay (also known as St. Mary's Bay) is a small beach located on the island of Comino, one of the Maltese islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The Elephant Head Rock is named for its distinctive shape, which resembles the head of an elephant. It’s a popular spot for tourists who visit to admire the formation and take photos.

Located on the north side of the island, this small bay was mostly frequented by guests of the nearby abandoned hotel. It’s usually quiet and not very crowded, making it a peaceful spot to relax. If you enjoy snorkeling, there’s a creek on the left side of the bay—just past the hotel—that’s perfect for swimming and exploring sea caves.

The chapel was build in dedication to the return of the Holy Family from Egypt. It has one altar and a total of three statues, the Virgin Mary, the Sacred Heart and Saint Joseph.

Located on the south west of the island, the tower was built in 1618 by the knights to defend the island from pirates. The Tower is usually open from April to end of October.

Located on the south east of the island, it was built in 1715 to protect the South channel, and is one of three surviving coastal batteries were you can still find a few original cannons.
